Referrals
We accept referrals that meet the criteria and have parental/carer consent. Please ensure you include how your concerns are affecting the child’s daily activities, as referrals without this information may be rejected.
Occupational Therapy Referrals
The children’s occupational therapy service supports children who have difficulties with daily activities such as getting dressed, bike riding , cutting up their food, participating at school.
Depending on the nature of these difficulties, the support offered will differ. It may be that the information on our website will be enough to help you support your child to learn these skills at their own pace, you may benefit from attending a parent drop-in to talk about the skills you want to prioritise for your child to develop, or your child may need a school visit or an assessment at home or at hackney ark. Children offered individual assessment usually have a range of difficulties relating to a medical diagnosis or a delay in a number of areas of difficulty, not associated with their general development .
You can talk to an OT about what help is available and any concerns you have at our drop ins, or sign up for a workshop, without referral
If you think an individual assessment is needed please complete a referral form and we will see if we can meet your children’s needs or whether we think we need to signpost you to another more service .
You must live in Hackney with a Hackney GP, school visits will only be offered to children in Hackney schools
